Paris Hilton’s Mom Is a Spoiled Brat, Too

As we move into the strangeness that will be the Paris Hilton jail sentence, the one Hilton that yapping the most about cruel treatment isn’t Paris Hilton…but her Mom.
Kathy Hilton, the mother of the hamburger thong spokesgirl, made sure that the cameras were all on her at her daughter’s probation-violation hearing Friday.
She actually had the audacity to laugh when a prosecutor stated that the younger Hilton deserved her prescribed jail time. And when the judge gave the sentence to the 26-year-old reality star to serve 45 days in county jail, Kathy Hilton yelled out: “May I have your autograph?”
Being a media ho herself, she continued with reporters outside, saying “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke.”
Momma Hilton is no stranger to the spotlight. Guess that’s where Paris gets it. She once guest starred on “Happy Days” in 1977. She also appeared on “The Rockford Files” in 1978.
Also on her resume: a program on QVC and a starring role in her own NBC reality show in 2005, “I Want to Be a Hilton,” in which contestants competed for a chance to live like a socialite for a year (of course without the drunk driving arrests, or the sex tapes).
“Anytime your kids stumble, you question yourself as a parent,” says Dorian Traube, a professor of social work at the University of Southern California.
“She has one daughter that’s done really well and another that keeps stumbling in the public eye. For a family that’s very prominent, it’s probably quite humiliating.”
“It’s common for families to come and show support in high-profile court cases, but Hilton’s outspoken behavior is a little unusual.”
“Kathy Hilton acted as if her daughter was a minor in the way she had to give a statement,” Traube said. “Not only is she enabling Paris’ behavior, she’s perpetuating it.”
Kathy Hilton’s spokespeople had no comment about Traube’s statements.
